Parish History: est. 1855
The parish is 151 years young. The land was donated by George Rex. Two church buildings stand upon the land, the original, which is now called the Small Church and the larger Church which was hugged from black and white sandstone which was completed in 1935. The stone was cut by two stone masons from Scotland. Most of the church was built using local talent and contains many wooden carved panels and decorative woodwork made from ironwood and other local timber. |

A History Holy Trinity Church was built by Thomas Henry Duthie, who was born in Scotland in 1805. In 1833 he married Caroline Rex, and in 1834 bought Belvidere Farm from his father-in-law. He was troubled by the fact that the nearest church was in Georgetown, sixty miles, two passes and nine rivers away.
